Allan Houston likely being groomed to be next Knicks GM

Former New York Knicks guard and current assistant general manager Allan Houston is likely being groomed as the team’s next general manager.

Steve Mills was hired by the team for that position on Thursday, sending former general manager Glen Grunwald to a role as an “advisor.”

Grunwald held the position for only two seasons.

Houston spent the final nine seasons of his 12-year NBA career with the Knicks, and is second in franchise history in three-pointers made and attempted. He was appointed special assistant to former general manager and president Donnie Walsh in 2008.
