Former Louisville Player Kyle Kuric in intensive care following second brain surgery

Former University of Louisville basketball player, Kyle Kuric had surgery on Thursday to remove a brain tumor. Kuric’s family announced Thursday that the surgery “went very well,” according to a university spokesman. Kuric played four years at Louisville.

The University of Louisville’s Kenny Klein, the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations, said Kuric remains in a Barcelona hospital and that his clinical condiction has worsened. Klein said Kuric has developed more cerebral edema, a swelling in the brain caused by excessive fluid.

Kuric underwent surgery Saturday at Clinica Medico Teknon and is on a ventilator with sedation, Klein said.
