Reggie Jackson agree to 5-year, $80M extension with Pistons

Reggie Jackson will be the point guard for the next half decade. Jackson signed with Detroit for 5 years and $80 million.

Jackson was a restricted free agent so Detroit could match any offer on the table. At $16 million a year, one has to wonder if any other team was going to pay that or offer it to Jackson.

It was a max deal by the Pistons, and Jackson averaged 17.6 points a contest and over 9 dimes in the 27 games he played for the Pistons last year. Jackson came over from OKC in a 3 team swap.

The deal can’t be finalized until Thursday.
