The Bank was Open for Derrick Rose; Bulls Up 2-1

The kid from Chicago has shown up to play in the playoffs this year. D Rose was big in stealing game 1 and home court from Lebron and Cavs, and in game 3 Rose hit one of the biggest shots of his career. If not the biggest! Rose used some windex hitting his deep three off the glass as the buzzer sounded. The final score 99-96, and now Chicago is up 2 games to 1 over Cleveland who is really lacking the presence of Kevin Love.

“That’s his greatness,’’ Thibodeau said. “There’s not many like him. As a matter of fact, there’s not any like him. The combined speed, the quickness, the power. He’s shaking the rust off, so the more he plays, the more comfortable he becomes, the better rhythm he has.’’

Rose’s triple came as answer to JR Smith who hit a top of key three to tie the game at 96.

“I don’t mean to sound cocky but those are the shots that you want to take as a player that’s in my position, and I’m just thankful and grateful that my teammates gave me the ball,’’ Rose said. “They believed in me down the stretch. Kept giving me the ball, kept encouraging me to play the way I usually play, and no, I did not call glass.’’

Rose scored 14 of his 30 points in the final quarter, and finished the game with seven rebounds and seven assists.

The youngest player to ever win an MVP award is finally looking like that player once again. Rose has been injury plagued since winning the MVP in 2011. The city of Chicago has suffered with Rose through-out his injuries, and the world has wondered what if. That ‘what if’ became a reality last night for the city and team that Michael once carried to 6 Championships.

The series isn’t over and LeBron James is still the best player in the association. James nearly had a triple double with 27 points, 14 assists and eight rebounds. It wasn’t a great game for the 4 time MVP who shot just 8-for-25 and added 7 turnovers.

The big problem for the Cavs besides Love being out for the rest of the year is that with Rose playing like he is, he is dominating KYRIE IRVING. Irving shot just 3-for-13 for only 11 points and he didn’t have 1 assist.

Sunday should be another great battle at the United Center in Chicago. The Bulls will hope to carry over the momentum from the big shot and win, but they might be lacking big man Pau Gasol. Gasol left the game with a strained left hamstring, and was unable to return. Whether Gasol can play or not on Sunday wasn’t announced and might be a game time decision.
