Under Armour Introduces the Curry One

When Stephen Curry left Nike in 2013 to become the face of Under Amour basketball, the Baltimore-based brand became a major player in the hoops retail space. Many assumed it was only a matter of time before Curry received his own signature kicks, especially after he was given PE versions of the Anatomix Spawn and Clutch Fit Drive.

Curry One "Home"

With the Bay Area as a backdrop, the inevitable came to fruition. Under Amour debuted the Curry One, a high top sneaker featuring two new performance technologies that enhance Curry’s quick bursts and cuts on the court. Charged Cushioning takes the impact on the foot and converts it to an energy burst to enhance explosiveness. And Anafoam on the sole is anatomically patterned to cushion the main pressure points on the foot.

Curry One "Away"

Two initial colorways of the shoe—”Home,’ sporting a royal blue upper and yellow and white accents, and “Away,” featuring a black upper with camo print and yellow accents—will drop Feb. 13 and 28, respectively, for $120.

Each shoe carries Curry’s “SC30” logo, one of his favorite quotes (“I Can Do All Things”) on the inside of the tongue and other personal details. The Curry One will be released in a handful of other colorways—”The Underdog,” “Candy Reign” and “Father to Son”—as the year goes on.

Curry will debut the “Home” version of the shoe when the Golden State Warriors take the court tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
